Antwerp, a major city of the country, is home to the world known Royal Academy of Fine Arts, with a cult status as one of the most important fashion academies in Europe. ‘The Antwerp Six’ (Walter van Beirendenk, Ann Demeulemeester, Dries Van Noten, Dirk Van Saene, Dirk Bikkembergs and Marina Yee) is a group of fashion designers graduated from the school between 1980-81. They got named and gained world’s concern in 1986 by renting a truck and showcasing their collections outside London Fashion Week. Martin Margiela is also a Belgian fashion designer. These designers are famous of their significant edgy, avant-garde style, creating a style of Belgians.
